VADEMECUM

The Student Vademecum is a student-produced document that seeks to share students' collected wisdom with everyone from new students coming to SISSA for the first time to older students approaching the very end of their degree.
The Vademecum is an extensive guide to survive and thrive in our community, written by students for students. In it you can find:

  • both official procedures and unofficial suggestions for facing all the bureaucratic steps of your settlement in Trieste and at SISSA;
  • all the ingredients for living your PhD life to the fullest;
  • how to receive all the support that you need in order to get the most from your PhD experience;
  • the ways to get in touch with all the regular services and opportunities offered to students;
  • hacks and tricks that only we students know about!
The Vademecum is continually updated with the most recent news by the students themselves. Our hope and suggestion is that students, especially new ones, can find an effective guide for facing all the trials and tribulations of SISSA and PhD life in general. At one point or another, every SISSA student has brushed up against at least some of the things that you can read about in the Vademecum: we are happy for you to benefit from our experiences!
The Vademecum can be found here.
