Bus strike, new tickets and summer schedule in Trieste
A lot of news about buses in Trieste: there will be a bus strike on Thursday 18 June, timetables shown at bus stops will change, there will be new tickets, and the summer schedule for bus services will start.
The Bus strike on Thursday 18 June runs from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.
Starting from Sunday June 14, the summer schedule for bus services will start. The new schedule will be available on the TriesteTrasporti website.
Starting from today June 11:
- the timetables shown at bus stops will indicate the times at which the bus is expected to pass by the bus stop, rather than the departure times from the end of the line;
- new tickets carrying the logo of Tpl FVG will come into effect. Old tickets (carrying the TriesteTrasporti logo) will remain valid until December 31, 2020, while monthly and annual passes and TriesteTrasporti photo IDs will remain valid until their stated expiration dates;
- you will be able to buy the new tickets in the same shops as before, and these new tickets will not have an expiration date. They will be valid throughout the region in accordance with the type of service (e.g. urbano vs extraurbano vs marittimo);
- if you were using an app to buy tickets, it will not work anymore. A new mobile app will be available for Android and iOS.
